The Roof’s Winter Room is a Wonderful, Winter-Themed Pop-Up Bar in New York

Want to experience the beauty of a New York City winter with cocktails yet without the freezing temperatures? You may want to check out the Winter Room at The Roof, as located within the Viceroy Central Park. I had the chance to learn more about this fine pop-up establishment from Vinny Mauriello, Managing Partner and Director of Operations for Gerber Group. More info can be found online at www.theroofny.com.

How would you describe your bar to someone who hasn’t been there for?

Vinny Mauriello: The Roof is a luxe rooftop bar that’s perfect for an after-work drink, light bite or grabbing cocktails with friends on the weekend. This winter, we turned our heated rooftop space into a festive and cozy retreat high above Central Park, with branches climbing the walls and large seasonal floral arrangements all around.

How long will it be around for?

The Winter Room at The Roof will run through March 2018.

What is your favorite item on the menu?

The Vermont Cheddar Fondue and the Rooftop Toddy, of course — the perfect treats to keep you warm and full!

Seasonal venue aside, what is coming up for you?

Outside of our winter pop-up, we have a cool New Year’s Eve party coming up. There will be spectacular views of the New Year’s Eve fireworks show over Central Park with tunes by DJ Killah Cam, light bites circling the room, and a champagne toast at midnight. You can find more information and purchase tickets at theroofny.nightout.com.

When not busy with work, how do you like to spend your free time? Have a favorite restaurant?

The hospitality industry can be pretty time-consuming, but when I have a moment to relax, I like to sit back and enjoy a good meal. My favorite spot is actually our restaurant Kingside. We recently brought on a new chef who created a stellar menu and the food is out-of-this-world.

Finally, Vinny, any last words for the kids?

Come check out the Winter Room, it’s perfect for friends and families. Plus, there are non-alcoholic versions of the holiday cocktails for the kiddies to enjoy.
