Tech Hotel For a Social Crowd – The Plaza Suites

If an open layout that’s bright, clean and inviting is your idea of the perfect hotel lobby, then The Plaza Suites delivers.

But this Santa Clara hotel has a lot more to offer than an impressive entrance and a slick, tech-modern check-in area. This hotel knows its audience and caters to a crowd that demands an experience, not just a room.

Totally tech, incredibly inspiring

From the comfortably modern right angles of the caramel-colored lobby furniture to the pleasing, nature-inspired wooden patio furniture on the enormous pool deck and outdoor seating area, The Plaza Suites provides many ways for guests to relax (or mingle?) outside their rooms in total style.

Not that guests here would want to leave their suites in the first place. Mine was especially comfortable, private, and well-appointed.  I was told that the Executive Level suites were even more laid out with special touches, but mine seemed pretty nice with its granite countertops and ultra-dreamy king bed.

Working all night? 3:00 AM workouts?

A lot of creative types stay here and we all know that creativity can happen at any time. The Plaza Suites caters to the Silicon Valley crowd by not only staging lots of common spaces for collaborating, but it leaves things open all night. The fitness center and the snack area are open 24 hours-a-day for whenever guests need them.

And speaking of amenities, unlike most hotels with standard pools, The Plaza Suites offers a pool heated to a comfortable 80 to 84-degrees. Soaking in the pool was magnificent and relaxing. A seating area and some greenery surround the pool area while custom music helps to relax guests even further. The pool was never crowded during my stay, which is something anyone can appreciate.

The Menu

The Plaza Suites provides a menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner specialties. Try the tagliatelle, which is a house-made pasta dish, and the delicious Pork or Beef Bolognese.

If you find yourself in Silicon Valley, head for the Plaza Suites shuttle at the airport and you, too, can experience what I found to be a surprisingly inspirational stay.
