Hawaiian Luxury: Four Seasons Resort Hualälai

Set against a backdrop of white sand beaches, blue waters and black lava landscapes, the Four Seasons Resort Hualälai allows guests to experience Hawai’i a whole new, luxurious way. The hotel’s 250, two-story bungalows feature furnished lanais (balconies), nature-inspired decor and an extensive collection of native Hawaiian art. Its spacious, granite bathrooms have deep soaking tubs and separate, glass-enclosed showers. One hundred twenty five of the bungalows have outdoor lava-rock garden showers!

Other features and amenities of the Four Seasons Resort Hualälai include custom bamboo bed canopies and headboards, cotton Yukata robes, twice-daily housekeeping service with evening turn-down, self-service washer/dryers with complimentary detergent and dryer sheets throughout the resort, 24-hour in-room dining, wireless Internet, iPod docking stations, a beach tote for use throughout your stay and–as if you weren’t already well-taken care of–overnight shoeshines.

The resort has three restaurant/lounges–Beach Tree Restaurant, Bar and Lounge; ‘ULU Ocean Grill and Sushi Lounge; and Hualälai Grill and Trading Company–and offers a selection of dining experiences.  Named one of the 100 Most Romantic Restaurants and one of the 100 Best Al Fresco Dining Restaurants in America by OpenTable, ‘ULU Ocean Grill and Sushi Lounge serves innovative ocean-to-table cuisine in a lively, informal setting. A steakhouse with a distinct Pacific flair, Hualälai Grill and Trading Company offers Prime steaks and local fish and chicken with big island twists on traditional sides. With the feel of a Hawaiian beach house, Beach Tree Restaurant, Bar and Lounge features both al fresco beachside seating and elegant dining under a vaulted ceiling and serves up Italian and Mediterranean cuisine with Californian and tropical influences.

And there’s no shortage of activities at Four Seasons Resort Hualälai. An 18-hole Jack Nicklaus signature golf course sprawls across 7,100 yards of green fairways and a variety of other sporting and family activities are available. Take a dip in one of seven pools and enjoy ocean and marine life adventures along the Kona Coast’s blue waters.

The Hualälai Sports Club features the latest in workout equipment and creates the ultimate wellness environment, while the 28,000-square-foot Kona Spa creates a feeling of well-being with acupuncture, nutrition evaluations and massages with scented oils and botanicals, and black lava salt, hibiscus flowers and crushed macadamia nuts.
